For Upcoming Teen Events
Give it a try... these teens are great and it's a blessing to be with them. Call Donna at 621-8133.
Stop by the choir loft any Saturday evening or Sunday morning that we're streaming to see just how easy it is to bring Holy Cross to those who can’t get to Mass because of illness, age, or other hardship.
Interested? Questions? Contact Jenny Ertel, email@example.com or 663-5468.
Sunday Regular Weekly Gatherings
1:00 – 2:00 PM
in the convent
If you haven’t joined us in the past – COME ON IN - we have a group that meets weekly. All teens in grades 9 – 12 and their friends are welcome. Start the new year out by bringing someone new to experience these gatherings, great kids and topics, and sharing without being judged. Oh yeah, and pizza too! Everyone adds their own special flavor to our group. Come and see. All are welcome!
Parish support of the efforts of our teens is the push they need to move forward. These teens help at jr hi events and are present at many parish functions as well. We encouraged them to actively participate in our Masses as lectors, ministers of communion, muscians, or other ministers.
This group of teens is just a pleasure to be with. We meet weekly from 1:00-2:00 on Sundays in the convent during the school year, with activities taking place all year round that offer opportunities for teens to experience the great blessing it is to help others and to become active members of our parish.
We have retreats twice a year; in the fall at Seneca Lake and in the Winter at Notre Dame in Canandaigua. These are awesome. Once you've attended one, you'll want to go again.
Teens help every summer as camp counselors for Vacation Bible School
Just before Halloween, we host a Haunted Pasta Dinner for the parish with a Trick-or-Treat lane to entertain the children. In the Spring we hold a Lenten Soup Supper. Delicious!
In the spring we have a fundraiser for a cause close to the hearts of the teens. Usually it's teens helping kids. In the past we have raised money for the Children's Burn Unit at Strong Memorial Hospital, The Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and this year, for ACT Now, an organization that promotes eductation about Autism and it's treatments.
Teens (Santa's elves) make and serve Breakfast with Santa for the children of the parish.
Each June/July at Holy Cross, we host a Diocesan Program called Future Now. During this two-day event we discuss, and put into practice, leadership qualities and experiences that will be useful not just in parish life, but in all aspects of life. It's a wonderful opportunity to come together with teens from all over the diocese and share our faith.
National and International Opportunities
We have also attended the World Youth Day in Toronto which proves to be an exhausting, yet truly faith-building experience for Catholics from all over the world. And every two years we attend the National Catholic Youth Conference which is in a different city each year. This past year we took 16 teens and 4 adults to Columbus. This experience is beyond words.
