Former RCIA Catechumen & Candidates
At our Easter Vigil, April 22, Holy Cross Parish was blessed to celebrate Sacraments of Initiation for several individuals. You may recall that since last October, they have been meeting and exploring where God was calling them to be. Now it was time to bring them into communion with our Catholic Faith. They have felt our Love through our support and prayers, and are now eager and ready to Live and Share their Faith in our almighty Lord and Savior.
To David Loring Small, Tiffany Warner, Quintin Philip Dipini, Ashley Marie Gubiotti, Marissa Kathleen Cole, and Judson David Dolle.
Welcome and Congratulations!
If you have never been baptized and find yourself attracted to the Catholic faith, we extend to you an invitation to explore the possibilities of becoming a member of the Roman Catholic Church. If you have been baptized in another Christian faith tradition, we offer the invitation to join in full communion with the Catholic Church. Or, perhaps you have already been baptized in the Catholic faith but have never received the sacraments of Eucharist or Confirmation. Your invitation is to complete your sacraments of initiation. All of these invitations are to a new way of life, a way that draws one closer to God and to his people.
If you feel this invitation may be intended for you (or you know of another), ask us about how to go about responding to the invitation. Our Rites of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process by which one can answer God’s invitation. Call Holy Cross Parish Office, 663-2244, or email Mary Jo DiNoto, Pastoral Associate, at MDiNoto@dor.org for more information.
RCIC is for children age 7 years or older, baptized or not. Children preparing to receive the Sacraments they have missed since baptism, or to join the Catholic Church through baptism, will attend RCIC classes on a regular basis. Taking into consideration the children's ages and levels of maturity, our goal as a parish is to provide a basic understanding of what it means to know and love God, and how to live out our lives within His guidelines. They will learn about what it means to become a Catholic Christian. Please contact Mary Toot at MToot@dor.org or at 621-8133 for more information.
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults* (RCIA) is a process where you can experience the Catholic faith community. It is an opportunity for questions to be answered and for learning about the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church.
- A person who has not been baptized and would like to learn more about the Catholic faith, with the possibility of becoming Catholic?
- A Baptized Christian of another denomination who would like to learn about and possibly join the Catholic tradition?
- A Baptized Roman Catholic who has not received Eucharist or Confirmation and would like to become a full participant in the life of the Church?
- A child over the age of seven who has never been baptized?
The Christian Initiation process offers an environment of support and guidance as you discover God is working in your life.
