It is time to create a new schedule for our Sunday morning Coffee Hour that follows the 10:00 AM Mass. The time commitment is minimal. The more volunteers we have, the greater the rotation of the schedule. You may only be scheduled to host/hostess 2-3 times a year!
This is the perfect volunteer opportunity for families with children in the religious education program. No need to come back to pick up your children after class. They can meet you in the parish center as coffee hour concludes. For details and more information please contact Jennifer Atseff, 585-738-1561 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you’re interested in helping with hospitality at our Coffee Hour, please contact the coordinator, Jennifer Atseff, through the parish office. Each weekend volunteers set-up and then clean-up. We’re always in need of a few more helping hands so no one has to manage it more than one weekend a month.
Members of the Holy Cross Choir and Contemporary Music Ensemble sing God Bless America at the Red Wings game on Friday, July 23, 2010.
Following the 10:00 am Mass on most Sundays, we hold a coffee hour in the Parish Center. Coffee, juice, donuts, and cookies are served along with lively conversation with other parishioners.
Held annually in September, our Parish Picnic is a great family event. The picnic, held at Charlotte Beach Park, gives our parishioners a place to meet and socialize with each other. There is music and great food every year, with dishes to pass supplied by the parishioners that attend.
Held annually in January in the school gym, this event brings parishioners together while raising money for the Holy Cross Sports Association, and the general parish fund. The event is staffed by coaches and parents involved with the CYO Sports Program. Click here for more details.
Held in Decemeber, we have hosted various events such as Christmas Caroling, a visit to GEVA for A Christmas Carol, and viewing selected holiday movies. We are always looking for new ideas when the holiday season approaches.
Ice Skating Party
Held annually in March at Lakeshore Hockey Rink, this event brings families together in a well-priced event that ensures families can afford to attend. Many Holy Cross School and Religious Education students attend, along with Boy and Girl Scout groups.
Periodically, Holy Cross takes advantage of opportunities to purchase tickets to sporting events at group rates. Watch the weekly bulletin for chances to attend a RedWings baseball game or an Amerks hockey game at a discount price.
Each year Holy Cross holds a Golf Tournament. It is usually held as a memorial for a beloved parishioner and may benefit a scholarship fund. Watch the church bulletin for sign-up information in the spring. Click here for more details.
