The Social Ministry Committee would like to thank all the generous people who donated food, gifts, time, and treasure during the holiday season.
Because of your generosity we were able to provide:
A large donation to Habitat for Humanity because of the 212 pies that you purchased
65 food baskets for Thanksgiving dinners. Special thanks to Don and Pat Salamone from Renewal by Anderson for donating 50 turkeys!
75 food baskets for Christmas dinners. Special thanks to Jack Herrema for donating 25 hams!
300 Christmas gifts which were shared at Bethany House, Shore Winds Nursing Home, School 33, Mt Hope Family Center, and several Holy Cross families.
A special Thank You to all the volunteers that helped prepare and deliver 130 food baskets. We could not have done it without your help!
As always, thank you to those who regularly donate items for our Food Pantry. Those donations help many people throughout the year.

Word of God
To help us put our faith into action and meet our Christian responsibility to help the less fortunate, Social Ministry has several outreach programs geared to meeting the many needs of brothers and sisters in our parish and community.
Social Ministry meets four
times a year on the third Monday of September, October, March and May.
There is always a need for new talent and energy to maintain these many
and varied projects. Even if you are unable to attend meetings, we
welcome your help on any or all of our projects.
In addition, a long-time and on-going can and bottle recycling program continues to raise money to fund food vouchers for needy families. (You can leave your rinsed "empties" at the church entrances.) Members of Social Ministry also participate in the on-going weekend Meals-on-Wheels program and the Blessed Sacrament Supper Program.
Special Outreach Projects
Annually, Social Ministry oversees the Christmas Giving Tree and organizes volunteer packers and drivers for the Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets. They also send holiday cards to members of the parish that are in senior centers or areas other than their own home.
During Lent, they manage Operation Rice Bowl whose funds support humanitarian efforts around the world.
Their Bread Sales support various agencies that work with the needy in our area.
